G.R.I.T. Calgary Society is currently seeking a Certificated Teacher to join our team. As the teacher, you will play a critical role in shaping the lives and futures of young children with unique learning needs.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of early childhood development and have experience working with children with diverse abilities. You should be a natural communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively with parents, colleagues, and other professionals.

Overview
Our teachers report to our Executive Director, in compliance with G.R.I.T. Calgary Society policies, Teacher Qualification Standards and The Education Act. Our teachers demonstrate the following competencies:
An understanding and interest in child development as it relates to children with diverse and complex learning needs.
Ability to work effectively as an active team member in cooperation with others (parents/guardians, therapists, Child Development Specialists, and community members)
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage conflict situations
Ability to multitask and demonstrate flexibility to work effectively in multiple environments
Willingness to learn
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Education – from recognized Canadian University
Current Alberta Professional Teaching Certificate (Interim or Permanent). New graduates are welcome to apply.
Fluent in English (written and oral)
Experience working with children with diverse needs would be considered an asset
Class 5 Driver's License with valid insurance and reliable vehicle
Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check

Copy of valid Alberta Education Teaching Certificate
Practicum and/or teaching evaluations.
Three current letters of professional references from supervisors
Full & Part Time Positions Available – expected start date August 25th, 2025
Salary is based on relevant education and years of work experience
